John R. Runyan has practiced labor and employment law since 1972, representing individual applicants, employees and labor organizations in all manner of employment-related disputes. Since 1978, he has also served as a member of the adjunct faculty at Wayne State University Law School, where he has taught a class in Employment Discrimination Law. During the course of his career, Runyan has served as well as a hearing referee, arbitrator, mediator and facilitator in employment-related disputes. John is the 2016 recipient of the Julian Abele Cook, Jr. Bernard A. Friedman FBA Civility Award from the Eastern District Chapter of the Federal Bar Association and the 2016 Distinguished Service Award from the State Bar of Michigan Labor and Employment Law Section.
